Thermal Dispersion Mass Flow Meter Working Application and Benefits

These gas mass flow meters can be found in either the insertion thermal mass flow meter or in line thermal mass flow meter. In both of these cases, the probe of thermal dispersion mass flow sensors gets inserted in a pipe stream, a duct or a stack filled with gas. Towards the meter's tip there are two main sensors and both of these are known as resistance thermometers or resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) and these are meant for measuring temperature.
These RTDs are available with platinum windings of durable reference-grade that are packed in Hastelloy C casing or 316 SS.
One RTD gets heated through functions and integrated circuit as flow sensor device, while the second RTD would act as reference sensor, and this also determines temperatures of the gas. Also, Thermal dispersion mass flow meter proprietary circuitry sustains continuous over heating between reference sensors and flow sensors. As these gases flow through heated RTD, the flowing molecules of gas are easily able to transport away the heat, and as an outcome, the energy gets lost upon sensor cooling.
There is disruption in circuit balance, and also temperature differences between reference RTD and heated RTD changes. Only in a second, circuit is able to restore all lost energy through flow sensor heating, for adjustment of overheat temperature.
Electrical power for sustaining the overheat would denote signal for mass flow.
