What is 4" electromagnetic flow meter?
A 4" electromagnetic flow meter refers to an electromagnetic flow meter with a pipe size or diameter of 4 inches (DN100). Electromagnetic flow meters, also known as magmeters, are widely used for measuring the flow rate of conductive fluids, such as water, wastewater, slurries, and various industrial liquids.
The 4 inch size (NB100) designation indicates that the flow meter is designed to be installed in a pipeline with a 4-inch diameter. The size of the flow meter is important as it needs to match the diameter of the pipe to ensure accurate and reliable flow measurement.
Principle of 4" electromagnetic flow meter
Electromagnetic flow meters work based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction. They consist of a flow tube with two electrodes that create a magnetic field across the fluid. As the conductive fluid flows through the magnetic field, it induces a voltage proportional to the velocity of the fluid. This voltage is measured by the electrodes, and the flow rate is calculated based on the induced voltage.
Applications of 4" electromagnetic flow meter
4" electromagnetic flow meters or DN100mm eletromagnetic flow meters are commonly used in various industries, including water and wastewater treatment, irrigation systems, chemical processing, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and utilities. They offer benefits such as high accuracy, wide turndown ratio, low pressure drop, and compatibility with a wide range of conductive fluids.
